UFC 97 backlash

We had a good round folks with my two heavy predictions in shogun and krzystof coming through and the only blemish being David Loiseau who had a poor and very predictibale and counterable game plan.

So with the fights I recomended we went 9-1 not bad for the first blog.

UFC 97 betting odds and predictions

Hello all this is my first post for an upcoming fight card and I am excited. Remeber especially with underdog bets you are betting on the "projected loser" but I am going to try and get you the best bang for your potential buck. Also the lines may be different at your local sports book but they should generally not differ more then 20 to 30 points each way.

Anderson Silva -500 vs Thales Leites +350

I honestly would not touch this line. Thales while being very talented on the ground will not have the awnser for Anderson on the feet. Also Silvas ground will keep him out of most trouble.

Ed Herman Even Vs David Loiseau -130

I think David Loiseau is a very solid bet here. He is fighting in his home country and has always brought the fight. Ed Hermans conditioning can always be questioned also he has trouble with unorthodox strikers and Loiseau is that to a T. Alot better submission and ground guys have not been able to do much with David on the ground and I do not think Ed will have the tools to do it. Look for a late round stoppage or Unanimous Decision for David Loiseau.

Mark Bocek -285 vs David Bielkheden +225

Another fight I would avoid. I like Bocek to control this one and finish David but not enough to bet at -285.

Sam Stout -140 vs Matt Wiman +110

Stout is coming off 2 losses and Wiman is coming off 1 but Wimans was an especially bad thrashing. Both guys are going to come out hungry and I believe the odds are this close for a reason. I personally like Sam stout but Matt Wiman being hungry and ready to restablish himself in the UFC's 155 pound division will come more then ready to fight.

Krzysztof Soszynski -165 vs Brian Stann +135

I believe this is a VERY solid bet at -165 for Krysztof. Brian Stann has never really impressed me and was matched up early with a lot of guys who were willing to just brawl with him. Stann may be tough but he does not have nearly the tools to take out Krzystof. Look for Krzysztof to control the fight early on the feet before taking it to the ground for the submission victory. Solid bet here.

Chuck Liddell -200 vs Mauricio Rua +160

Chuck Liddell is done folks. I am so sorry to burst that bubble for you but when you rely on lightning fast reflexes and pin point counter punching your skills are going to deteriorate fast at an older age. Add all the partying he did and I think we have seen the last of the Iceman. On the other hand we have Shogun Rua. The unstoppable force in pride who since coming to the UFC has been riddled with injuries and conditioning problems. All reports are that Shogun is finally healthy. He fought not too long ago and while looking unimpressive that means he had a good base built up for this fight. All the reports on his training camp out of Brazil are that he is taking this fight very seriously. So and inshape and healthy Shogun means the Shogun of old comes back and will work chuck for the tko finish.

Nate Quarry -120 vs Jason MacDonald -110

Both of these guys were recently sacrificed to the submission god that is Demian Maia. This is probably do or die for both of these guys in there career. They are pretty evenly matched in the skill department but with Nate being the striker and Jason being the ground guy. There is one thing I beleive they are not matched up on that is heart. Nate Quarry has it in buckets full while Macdonalds is back on the farm E I E I O. Sorry bad joke. Look for a lot of Macdonald looking for a takedown and jocking for postion until Nate smashes him with a right hand and then Macdonald will lose.

Luiz Cane -270 Vs Steve Cantwell +210

Luiz Cane is going to kill Steve Cantwell. After he does I hope he makes the comment I always wanted to shatter some guys jaw.

Denis Kang -325 vs Xavier Foupa-Pokam +250

I love Denis Kang and he should come into much better shape this time. Look for kang to snatch the sub late in the first round. However at -325 i would avoid this fight.

Cheick Kongo -295 vs Antoni Hardonk +235

Big European kickboxers class here with Cheick going to come out the victor. Hardonk has the weaker chin and is the weaker physically fighter. Look for Kongo to score the TKO
